Cataloging Art Collections
There may be times when you find yourself with several pieces of artwork that you know very little about. This is most likely to occur as a result of an inheritance. It may seem overwhelming but organizing your art collection is easy!
If you find yourself in this situation but not ready to make any decisions, you just need the power of knowledge. You need to know the who, what, when of your collection. This is when a valuation vs an appraisal may be the best approach for you.
A Valuation is not a formal appraisal. This is an inventory and valuation service which includes the inspection, research and *estimated value for each piece of art in a collection. We catalog your art collection and deliver the results in a quick reference table format which will provide you with valuable insight and assists you in determining if a formal appraisal will be necessary.
A formal appraisal report follows the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) as they apply to personal property and set forth by The Appraisal Foundation and based on the objective of the client. Review our list of appraisal applications. If your objective is not clear, its best to conduct a valuation of your artwork.
